Nottingham slums, 1931.

There are many places within Nottinghamshire that will help you understand how your ancestors lived, such as Brewhouse Yard Museum of Nottingham Life, the Galleries of Justice and Mr Straw's House at Worksop.

To find out about historic buildings within the parishes that your ancestors lived look at the English Heritage’s Images of England Site: http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/

At the Nottingham Archives you can find street by street information that will guide you to associated documents; for example, Red Lion Street has many individual documents regarding building ownership and tenancy agreements. http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/home/leisure/Archives.htm.
