The photograph on the right by J W Jackson shows Creswell Crags from the east end in about 1874 before Millward Brook was dammed.

Artistic

The artist Stubbs did a series of magnificent pictures of a horse and lion against the background of the Crags. These are held in the Tate Gallery:
