a) Photographic

There are three major repositories based within the town. The Mansfield Museum and Library each hold a substantial collection while the Old Mansfield Society has its own private archive: www.old-mansfield.org.uk. Other photographs can also be located at the Central library, Angel Row, Nottingham and the County Archive Office. Most of the images from the Libraries can be found on www.picturethepast.org.uk. Published works include ‘The Old Mansfield Society, Mansfield In Old Photographs (Stroud 1993)’ and ‘Mansfield Newspapers Ltd & the Old Mansfield Society, Bygone Mansfield in Words and Pictures (Mansfield 1987)’.

b) Film & Video

There is only a small miscellaneous collection of motion pictures located in the Mansfield Library.

c) Artistic

Thanks to A. S. Buxton the town can boast a collection of over 160 watercolour images of Mansfield depicting the town during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, available for viewing at the Mansfield Museum www.mansfield.gov.uk/lei_menu/museum/lei_mus_policy.htm
