Photographic
Newark Museums Service holds about 10,000 images depicting aspects of
life in Newark and the surrounding area. A project to catalogue the collection
is currently underway.
Over 500 images of Newark are currently (July 2005) available to view
on the Picture the Past website:

the Town Hall. Works include a set of views of Newark in the 18th century
by Joseph
Paul on display in the Picken Room and a drawing of the Market Place
by Edward Eyre (c.1776) in the art gallery on the second floor.
