Photographic
Researchers are advised to search the picture collection at the Local
Studies Library in Nottingham. Material from this collection is being
digitised and made available through the Picture the Past website,
a joint venture between Nottinghamshire, Nottingham, Derby and Derbyshire
library services:
For village subjects in north Nottinghamshire it would be worth visiting
the website of the Welchman Photographic Project, run by Bassetlaw
Museum:
Millgate Museum, Newark has a large photographic collection and although
the focus is the town itself there are “photographs of most of the surrounding
villages throughout the Newark and Sherwood region.” Volunteers are
currently working on compiling a catalogue for the collection. For more

Film and video
A number of videos on village subjects are available for loan from the
